We are very pleased to announce that Linking Lives Eastbourne has recently received the Quality in Befriending Award from Befriending Networks! This is the award in the UK which is specifically tailored for befriending services as a mark of Good Practice in the Sector.
Over the past 6 months, we have been assessed in 7 areas of practice each requiring a series of indicators (in total 61!) evidenced through documents, policies, interviews, and case studies. Although it’s been a lot of work, it’s also been a good opportunity to review, reflect upon, and improve all aspects of the scheme.
Angus, from Befriending Networks, has supported us through the process and we have very much appreciated his affirmation, encouragement, and suggestions for development.
Lynne Davies, Administrator of Befriending Networks wrote:
“The Quality Award is a process that requires significant effort, so achieving it is truly a recognition of your hard work and time invested.”
Our management team and trustees are thrilled.
“That's such great news (but hardly surprising given the huge effort that everyone has put in). An objective confirmation of what we have always believed - that Linking Lives is delivering friendship of the very best quality. Well done! Let's hope that it will encourage funders to support more of this!”
(Noj Northway, Management Team)
“DELIGHTED, DELIGHTED, DELIGHTED! HUGE WELL DONE!”
(John Caroe, Chair of Trustees)
